snow umbrella

outfit
AA disco pants, blazer from Taiwan street market, Zara top, F21 tie-dye scarf, Style&Co oxfords

I woke up this morning, completely groggy and still half asleep and mumbled something about how freaking fickle NYC weather is, since the day before (when these photos were taken) it was bright and sunny and this morning was fog and overcast to the max. And then I realized it was snowing! And yes, I've seen snow before, I've seen snow in NYC before, but all of a sudden I got all happy and giddy (two emotions that don't often surface in the morning).
I love how snow really does make everything -even busy New Yorkers scrambling to get to work, seem calmer and more magical. =)

And then, like a classic SoCal n00b, I came across the dilemma of umbrella vs. no umbrella while it's snowing out... ended up going without since it wasn't snowing all that hard. A quick survey of the streets showed about a half half split... although maybe more people sans umbrella. But I'm curious, for those of you guys who live in places that get snow often... umbrella or no umbrella?

Oh yea, and then it got all bright and sunny again. Fickle NYC weather no?
(...only bloggers can write an entire post on weather huh, haha)

  1. I say umbrella. When you're trudging around Manhattan for a few blocks in the snow, your hair no longer has pretty snowflakes attached to it... it just becomes a cold, wet mess!

  2. Too funny! I have TOTALLY written entire posts about the weather - especially when it relates to snow. And I say definitely umbrella! I spend WAY too much time on my hair in the morning to get it all messed up by the snow :)

    And I cannot believe how freaking amazing you look in those leggings! AMAZING!

  3. Great photo and outfit!

    Umbrella vs No Umbrella dilemma; I live most of my life in Montreal where it snow often 3 month during the year and I had never seen anyone strutting around under an umbrella! Now I live in Vancouver where it snow only 3 times a year and were everyone will go around under umbrella! I must say I think the umbrella is a pretty brilliant idea! I have no clue why Montrealer will not go for it!

  4. Of course we blog about the weather! It determines what we wear! (;

    I don't have input on the umbrella statement because I live in SoCal... :)

    I love your scarf. And your pictures are gorgeous.

  5. I usually have an umbrella... but I'd say 70% of the people on the street don't.

  6. HAHA. I always rant about the weather. It dictates our outfit that day!!! I'm kind of jealous as to how you can totally pull off those disco pants.

  13. I never wear an umbrella in the snow. Silly, because it can get you just as wet as walking in the rain. But still. I don't :-)
