Few randoms from the past couple months & 'I miss summer'  post

got a best buy gift card this weekend from a holiday white elephant gift exchange. which i guess could be my kick in the ass to go by a memory card and start taking photos again.

not gonna lie though, the past 3 months sans camera has been pretty liberating, not only for my sense of responsibility to document everything, but also for a bit for self-esteem too I suspect.  a lot less going back and analyzing every outfit/ pose/ hairstyle/ omgdoesmyeyelinerlookthatbadwhenimwasted?!?!

but seeing how none of my friends are good at this (you always need one in the group amiright?) and i DO want to be able to look back on my life when i'm old and have amnesia and remember how much funner and prettier i was in my vapid 20's, i should get back on it.

...this ain't a promise though. next blog post may be in another 3 months, who knows.

been grooving

time's been flying... changes galore. new job. new apt aka the Real World loft. people in and out of the city... seeing old friends, making new ones.  oh right, and I lost my camera. haven't been doing too well with that thing this year.  (although for real, can I just have the memory card back??)

I've given up on regular blogging though, so I guess I can't really use that as a bitch-factor for no camera. womp womp.

mermaids

Last Saturday was the annual Coney Island Mermaid Parade.  Sash & I went down to meet up with some friends and watch one of our coworkers who was dancing in the parade.  Of course, by the time we got our traveling juice together and our asses on the F train, we had missed the majority of the parade. =( womp womp.

So we just frolicked around the boardwalk and sand... so nice to be on a beach in the East Coast

gonna marry you

jetted off to San Francisco last weekend for a friend's wedding. first friend wedding, damn I guess we're getting old ::obligatory freakout::

what I wore. where we were. what we ate. who was there. (including the ring bearer the guys hoisted up to catch the bride's garter belt... cue awwww)

oh yea and a flower pic... because it makes sense with weddings and summer and love yadda yadda

how quickly H&M can knock of Prada's prints... kind of crazy, and screwed up, but if you think about it all fashion really is just recycled & tweaked ideas. since fashion & design isn't protected by the same copywrite laws there's not much that can be done re: knockoffs & imitations. guess it keeps the competition stiff & designs fresher ;)

He Loves Me...

... He Loves Me Not. Betsey Johnson Fall 2011 NYFW at Lincoln Center on Feb. 14th, Valentine's Day


By far my favorite Betsey show everrrrrrr. and not just cuz i got to hang out with Gala Darling backstage (!) and walk the second half of the show, Pink Patch (!!!). but just cuz the clothes were soo totally on point, so totally me (harem pants, crazy mesh, studs & fur)



Everything from her hilarious make-up lessons at work, listening to her make sure we have enough (cases and cases) of champagne backstage, to watching her dance to 'short-dick man' with Pat Fields in the show finale, only make me love Betsey the lady & the brand all the more. as much as I bitch about work... I'm so lucky she's my boss!
